Our study and training policy
At Nexia ASR we recognise that our continued success and recognition as a leading accounting and advisory firm is dependent upon the talents and achievements of our individual team members. Accordingly, we regard our team members as our greatest asset, and as a “Learning Organisation” we are committed to training and developing each member of our team both professionally and personally.
Accountants are no longer merely technicians. Chartered Accounting is a multi-disciplined profession that requires both technical and personal skills and talents across a wide variety of areas. Our team members are required to demonstrate strong interpersonal, organisational, problem solving and technical abilities. We promote and support the necessary training in these areas as it provides the tools for our team members to attain the highest level of success within our firm and the accounting profession.
We see our role as acting as a bridge between tertiary studies and professional practice by providing formally structured and on-the-job training as well as access to external courses and seminars for personal skills development. We pride ourselves in being a “Learning Organisation” that takes a personal interest in each team member’s career development.
Our study and training policy supports any of our team members who wish to undertake any further course of study.
If you have not yet completed your Professional Year or CPA Study we will:
- allow flexible time to attend study courses
- reimburse CA or CPA module course fees on the passing of each module
- pay for all books and training within and outside the firm
- provide three days paid study leave prior to each exam
- allow additional study leave required to be taken as either annual leave or leave without pay
We will support any team member who wishes to undertake any course of study that will provide them with knowledge and experience that will benefit them and us.
We support the completion of part-time studies for either a degree, post-graduate degree or an MBA etc by allowing flexibility in work hours to accommodate lecture times, study and exams.
We similarly encourage the attainment of higher qualifications or course participation for all other team members – be it an IT course, advanced courses in word processing, receptionist skills etc.
Our support for any further studies by a team member is determined on an individual basis and can be in the form of flexibility in working hours and/or reimbursement of part or all of the fees. |
